Jake , Nikko and Chris worked all summer with the HEADstrong foundation.  The HEADstrong Foundation for blood cancer is committed to finding a cure for all blood cancers.  The foundation is dedicated to its founder Nicholas Colleluori.  The foundation strives on Nick’s quote, “Making use of the time you have and don’t stress the little things.  Have a smile and enjoy what you can get out of life.”

GROUND ZERO

Senior Dom Pernice

Dom worked with an organization called Ground Zero (helping out the people who need it the most).  He was assigned a specific woman who had a number of disabilities which she has to adjust in her every day life.  "Spending time with her and just talking with her really gave me an eye-opening experince on the value of life."  Dom spent many hours with her learning, and having fun hanging out with her and hearing all of her crazy childhood stories.  This Caritas project is not over and he will continue visiting Nicole throughout the rest of this year and he plans on  remaining involved with this organization for years to come.

LUNCH WITH LYNCH
Senior Alex Piratzky

Alex worked with "Lunch with Lynch" to help raise books and school supplies for the children at Glennwood Avenue Elementry School. He raised over $750, 2000 books for the library, and was able to assemble over 130 backpacks filled with school supplies.  Congrats Alex!

HERMITS HOCKEY HISTORY
Senior Joe Callahan

Joe compiled a complete history of the St. Augustine Hockey program.  His efforts included calculating all stats, writing season previews and wrapups, and organizing all newspaper articles.  The information will be stored in the Media Center for the benefit of countless future hermit hockey players and parents.
